No. Care is available without a prescription.
Who will I see?
Chiropractic and physiotherapy care is with Dr. Kowin Casey, DC, the chiropractic physician who founded KC Wellness and Physiotherapy, supported by our office staff. For acupuncture or massage appointments, call our office at (913) 424-2410.
Dr. Casey earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic with honors from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 2011, and he received a certification in physiotherapy with an emphasis in sports rehabilitation.

Where are the intake forms?
There are two forms for new patients: the Patient Demographic and General Consent Forms, and the HIPAA Intake Form. Please download them, fill them out before you arrive, and bring them with you to your first visit.
If you have any trouble with the forms, call our office at (913) 424-2410.
What should I expect at my first visit?
Bring your completed intake forms. In the practice’s own words: “We listen carefully to understand the challenges our clients are facing in their healing process. ... Our wellness model strives to identify exactly what the problems are in order to allow our clients to begin to heal.”
If x-rays or lab work would help, Dr. Casey may recommend them.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, loose clothing that lets you move freely is a good choice. If you have a question about a specific service, call our office before your visit.
Services and Care
What services do you offer?
We offer chiropractic and spinal corrective care (including pediatric care), physiotherapy and rehabilitation, sports injury care and team physicals, auto and work injury care, non-surgical spinal decompression and traction, Class IV laser therapy, dry needling, Active Release Technique and myofascial release, kinesio taping, personalized nutrition and wellness coaching, acupuncture, massage therapy, and hydrotherapy, sauna and recovery therapies. Telemedicine visits are also available.
Do you offer telemedicine?
Yes, virtual appointments are available. To schedule one, call our office at (913) 424-2410.
At the time of your visit, a nurse calls you by phone and takes your history. You then use a smartphone or a computer with a webcam to click the provider link you were given, enter your name, and wait in a virtual waiting room until Dr. Casey joins you by voice and video.
Telemedicine visits are billed just like a regular office visit. If Dr. Casey needs x-rays or lab work, he will explain the next steps. If you have trouble with the link, call (913) 424-2410.
Do you work with athletes and students?
Yes. Dr. Casey works with local schools and students, and sports and team physicals are among the services we offer, along with treatment for sports-related injuries.
Dr. Casey lettered in football and track as an NCAA athlete at the University of Central Missouri, then served as an assistant coach for the Mules and Jennies athletic programs. He is also a strength and conditioning specialist.

For questions about how your care will be billed, call our office at (913) 424-2410 before your visit.
What is your approach to care?
“We believe that wellness is a continuum. It is not static, but ever changing.” That line from the practice’s philosophy sums up the approach: meet people where they are, at their phase of health, and work in partnership with them toward a higher level of functioning.
For Dr. Casey, that means looking for underlying causes and making specific interventions and lifestyle adjustments to optimize the conditions for normal function. The practice’s tagline puts it simply: Achieving an Optimal Balance.
Can you help with long-term pain?
Everyone’s situation is different, and no provider can promise a specific result. Dr. Casey can evaluate your pain, look for what may be contributing to it, and talk with you about whether his care is a good fit for you.
Can chiropractic care help with headaches?
Headaches have many causes. Some are linked to muscle tension, posture or the neck, and those are the kinds conservative care is most often used for. Dr. Casey can evaluate your symptoms and let you know whether his care is a good fit or whether you should see another provider first.
Get emergency care right away for a sudden, severe headache, or a headache with weakness, numbness, confusion, trouble speaking, vision changes, or fever with a stiff neck.
How many visits will I need?
There is no single answer. It depends on your condition, how long you have had it, your overall health and your goals. After your evaluation, Dr. Casey can talk with you about what he recommends.
Insurance and Payment
Do you take insurance?
We accept all major insurance plans. Call our office at (913) 424-2410 to confirm your coverage before your visit. Telemedicine visits are billed just like a regular office visit.
Your Health and Safety
Should I tell Dr. Casey about my medications?
Yes. List every medication and supplement on your intake forms, including over-the-counter pain relievers, and mention any changes at later visits. Do not stop or change a prescribed medication without talking to the clinician who prescribed it.
What if I have a medical emergency?
KC Wellness and Physiotherapy is not an emergency service. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you are in a mental health crisis, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
