What Is Therapeutic Massage?

Therapeutic massage is hands-on work on the muscles and soft tissue. Pressure and movement are used to help tight, overworked muscles relax and to make moving feel easier.

Massage can be used on its own for relaxation and tension, or as part of a broader plan. At KC Wellness and Physiotherapy it sits alongside chiropractic care, physiotherapy, Active Release Technique and our recovery therapies.

Our approach is to look for the underlying causes of pain and restricted movement, and massage can be one of the ways we support normal function between visits.

What to Expect

Before Your Session

Share your health history and any injuries. Let us know if you have a fever, a skin infection, a recent injury with swelling or a history of blood clots.

During Your Session

Tell us at any time if the pressure is too much or too little, and it will be adjusted.

Afterward

Drink water and move gently. Some mild soreness the next day can be normal after deeper work.
