Nutrition and Coaching as Part of Your Care

"We believe that wellness is a continuum. It is not static, but ever changing." That line from our philosophy is at the heart of this service. We are either moving toward disease or toward wellness each moment we make a choice of what to drink or eat, how we think, how we interact with others, and how we move. Personalized nutrition and coaching focus on those everyday choices.

Dr. Kowin Casey has a background in nutrition and is a strength and conditioning specialist who has worked with athletes from all sports and activities. Personalized Nutrition and Personal/Sports Coaching are among the services we offer, alongside spinal corrective care, sports related injury treatments, and physiotherapy.

At KC Wellness and Physiotherapy, we meet people where they are, at their phase of health. In the Transform phase, the pathway to wellness, proper nutritional intake, movement and exercise, and positive thinking are being introduced into daily life. Coaching is designed to support that shift with guidance that fits your life, your goals, and your health history.

Our Approach to Nutrition and Wellness Coaching

Evaluation by Dr. Casey

We listen carefully to understand what challenges block clients from healing. Dr. Casey reviews your health history, your current eating and activity habits, your training demands, and your goals, so your guidance starts from where you actually are.

A Personalized Plan

Your plan is built around your life, not a generic diet. It may include nutrition guidance, movement and strength and conditioning goals, and daily habits, coordinated with any chiropractic care or physiotherapy you are receiving.

Ongoing Coaching and Education

Wellness is not static. Follow-up visits give you a chance to review what is working, adjust the plan as your life and goals change, and keep building habits that last.

How Coaching Works

Getting to Know You

We start by building a picture of your eating habits, lifestyle, health history, activity, and goals, and we listen for the challenges that may be holding you back.

Setting Priorities

Together with Dr. Casey, you choose a few practical changes to focus on first, so progress feels achievable instead of overwhelming.

Putting It Into Practice

You apply the plan in your daily routine, whether that means changes at the grocery store, a new training structure, or better recovery habits.

Review and Adjust

At follow-up visits, you review what is working and what is not, and the plan evolves as you move along the wellness continuum.

What We Listen For

We listen carefully to understand what challenges block clients from healing. These challenges can include self-esteem issues, past hurts, resentment, unhealthy relationships, and more.

Understanding these challenges is about seeing the whole person, not about diagnosing them. Nutrition and coaching do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. If you have a health concern, we will encourage you to see, or keep seeing, your medical physician or a mental health professional, and your coaching can be shaped around the care they provide.

Coaching for Athletes and Students

Personal/sports coaching draws on Dr. Casey's own path in athletics. He was an NCAA athlete who lettered in football and track at the University of Central Missouri, went on to serve as an assistant coach for the Mules and Jennies athletic programs, and is a strength and conditioning specialist.

Dr. Casey also works with local schools and students. Whether you compete, train for fun, or simply want to move better, you are welcome to ask whether coaching fits your goals.

Common Questions About Personalized Nutrition & Wellness Coaching

Will coaching help me lose weight?

Personalized nutrition and wellness coaching focus on everyday habits that support your health, activity, and recovery. We do not promise weight loss or any specific result. If body weight is one of your goals, talk it through with Dr. Casey as part of your overall plan.

How is this different from seeing a registered dietitian?

Personalized nutrition here is guidance from Dr. Casey, a chiropractic physician with a background in nutrition, focused on everyday eating habits that support health, activity, and recovery. It is not medical nutrition therapy. If you have a medical condition that affects what you can eat, your physician may refer you to a registered dietitian, and that care should stay in place.

Does coaching diagnose or treat medical conditions?

No. Nutrition and coaching do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. If you have symptoms or a diagnosis, please see your medical physician, and let Dr. Casey know so your plan can account for it.

Do I need to be an athlete for personal or sports coaching?

No. Coaching can be tailored to athletes and to anyone who wants to move better, get stronger, or build healthier routines. Dr. Casey also works with local schools and students.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept all major insurance plans. Call our office at (913) 424-2410 to confirm your coverage before your visit. When you call, ask whether coaching visits are covered under your plan.
