Recovery Therapies at KC Wellness and Physiotherapy

Healing is not only about what happens during an adjustment or an exercise session. Rest, warmth, and relaxation also play a part in how the body recovers from training, work, and injury. Our recovery therapies give you a calm space to unwind and may help you feel looser and more comfortable between visits.

The practice offers a state of the art full circuit of hydrotherapy rooms with chromotherapy lights, a full spectrum sauna, a steam capsule, a physiotherapy deep tissue capsule, oxygen treatments including personal hyperbaric chambers, physio microcurrent therapy, and ion therapy. Dr. Kowin Casey can help you decide which options, if any, fit your goals and your health history.

Hydrotherapy, sauna, and steam are offered for comfort and relaxation. None of these therapies, including oxygen treatments, is a treatment for any disease or injury, and none replaces care from your medical physician. People respond differently, and Dr. Casey will be straightforward with you about what to expect.

Our Approach to Recovery Therapies

Start With Your Health History

Heat, steam, and pressurized chambers are not right for everyone. Before you try a recovery therapy, tell Dr. Casey about your health history and any medications, and check with your medical physician if you have concerns.

Alongside Your Care

Recovery therapies are offered in the same office as chiropractic adjustments and physiotherapy, so they can sit alongside the rest of your care. Which ones you choose can reflect your goals and how you like to relax.

Ongoing Support and Education

Ask us what to expect from a session, how to prepare, and how to take care of yourself afterward. As your needs change, talk with Dr. Casey about which therapies, if any, still fit your goals.

Benefits

Relaxation

Warm, quiet, spa-style sessions give you time to slow down, breathe, and unwind.

May Ease Muscle Stiffness

Warmth from a sauna or steam session may help tight muscles feel looser and more comfortable.

Recovery Between Workouts

Athletes and active people often use heat and relaxation therapies as part of their recovery routine.

Complements Your Care

Recovery therapies are offered in the same office as your chiropractic care and physiotherapy, so they can fit into your overall plan.

Ask Before You Start

Ask Dr. Casey which options, if any, suit your health and goals.

The Recovery Therapies We Offer

Hydrotherapy rooms with chromotherapy lights: Our state of the art full circuit of hydrotherapy rooms pairs water with colored lighting to create a calm, spa-like setting for rest and relaxation.

Full spectrum sauna: Many people find the warmth of a sauna session relaxing, and it may help ease muscle stiffness.

Steam capsule: A steam capsule surrounds the body with warm, moist heat for a relaxing session.

Physiotherapy deep tissue capsule: Ask Dr. Casey how this capsule session works and whether it fits your recovery plan.

Oxygen treatments, including personal hyperbaric chambers: These are available at our office. They are not a treatment for any disease or injury. A personal hyperbaric chamber involves resting in a pressurized chamber, which can cause ear and sinus pressure and is not appropriate for everyone, so ask Dr. Casey whether it is right for you.

Physio microcurrent therapy and ion therapy: These are also available at our office. Dr. Casey can explain what each one involves and whether either is a good fit for you.

Safety First

Heat and pressure therapies are not right for everyone. If you are pregnant, have heart disease or blood pressure concerns, have a fever or other acute illness, have ear, sinus, or lung conditions, or feel uneasy in enclosed spaces, talk with your medical physician and let Dr. Casey know before using a sauna, steam capsule, or hyperbaric chamber.

Drink water, avoid alcohol beforehand, and tell us right away if you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or unwell so we can help you end the session safely.
